The official language is Arabic but English is widely spoken and understood.

major credit cards are accepted in shopping areas as well as hotels and restaurants.
 

Climate :
warm sunny days from October to April with an average temperature of 26° Celsius and cool nights with an average of 15° Celsius. From May to September hot and humid weather with average temperature around 40/45° Celsius.
 

Dress code :
light summer clothing is suitable for most of the year but sweaters or jackets may be needed for the winter months, especially in the evening. Hats, sun-block and sunglasses are advisable. The UAE has a conservative dress tradition: swimmwear should be used only on the beaches or at the hotel swimming pools. Wearing clothes respectful of local tradition and religion is a must.
 

Religion :
Islam is the official religion but other religions are respected.
 

Photography :
photography of governmental buildings or military installations is forbidden. It is also advisable to ask permission before photographing women and men.

hospitals, pharmacies and health clinics are available throughout the UAE.

the electricity supplied is 220 volts with American plugs.

any kind of food from Chinese to Italian, from Mexican to Lebanese is widely available in restaurants and supermarkets.
 

Safety :
the UAE has one of the lowest crime rates in the world and it is quite safe for visitors to venture out either by taxi or on foot.
